Scrolling screenshot

A scrolling screenshot (or long screenshot) is one image of a page from top to bottom. Here you get it without scrolling and stitching: the browser lays out the whole page and captures it in one go.

Rendered in a real browser with cookie banners hidden. Takes 5–30 seconds.

Why one capture beats stitching

Stitched screenshots repeat whatever stays on screen while you scroll: sticky headers, cookie bars, chat buttons. Pages that change while you scroll (carousels, animations) also leave seams. A full-height capture renders the page once at its full length, with cookie banners hidden, so you get one clean image.

Desktop or phone length

The same page is far longer on a phone: narrow columns stack content that sits side by side on a desktop. Choose a phone in Device for the long mobile screenshot people share in chats and reviews, or a desktop size for archives and design reviews. See also the full-page screenshot and mobile screenshot tools.

Long screenshots with the API

One GET request with full_page=true returns the whole page as one image; add a phone’s viewport_width, viewport_height and device_scale_factor for a mobile one. The free plan includes 300 screenshots a month. See the documentation.

Frequently asked questions

How do I take a scrolling screenshot of a website?

Enter the URL, keep Full page ticked and click Take screenshot. Pick a phone in Device for a long mobile screenshot, as phones make with their scroll capture.

How is this different from scroll capture on my phone?

Scroll capture on a phone scrolls the page and stitches several screenshots together, so sticky headers and chat buttons can appear again and again. Here the browser lays out the full height of the page and takes one picture, so the page appears once, as one piece.

Why are some images missing from my long screenshot?

Some pages load images only when you scroll to them (lazy loading), and the capture does not scroll, so those can stay empty. Fixed-height containers with their own scroll bars are also captured at their visible height.

Can I record a scrolling video instead?

Not yet. The tool and the API capture images, PDFs and markdown.

Is there a maximum length?

Very tall images hit format limits: JPG up to 65,500 pixels and WebP up to 16,383 pixels in height. PNG goes further, but files get large; for extremely long pages a PDF on one long page (URL to PDF) can be easier to handle.
