Frequently asked questions

How do I see what my website looks like on a phone?

Enter the URL, pick a device such as iPhone 15 Pro or Pixel 9, and take the screenshot. The page is rendered at that device's CSS viewport and pixel ratio, so responsive layouts switch to their mobile version.

Is this the same as testing on a real phone?

It renders the page at the device's viewport size and pixel density, which is what responsive designs react to. It does not emulate the phone's browser engine, touch input or user agent, so test critical flows on real devices too.

Where do the device sizes come from?

From the device list built into Chrome DevTools. All of them are on the viewport sizes pages.
