Screenshot API error ยท HTTP 429
Monthly quota used up
quota_exceeded
quota object shows the limit, what is used and when it resets (quota.resets_at).How to recognize it
The API answers with status 429 and a JSON body with the message and the error.code quota_exceeded, for example:
HTTP/1.1 429
Content-Type: application/json
{
"error": {
"code": "quota_exceeded",
"message": "You used all your monthly requests. Please upgrade your plan at https://app.screenshotbase.com/subscription"
},
"message": "You used all your monthly requests. Please upgrade your plan at https://app.screenshotbase.com/subscription"
}How to fix it
- Upgrade your plan in the dashboard, or wait for the reset.
- Check
quota.required: a PDF, markdown or a render of HTML input is checked against the quota before it is rendered, so it can be refused while a few requests are left. - Only successful requests count: requests the API answers with an error are not billed. The exception is a 504 from our gateway, which stops waiting while the render may still finish and be billed; see the status codes.
Retry
After the quota resets at quota.resets_at, or right after an upgrade.
Billing
Not billed: a request answered with this error does not count against your quota.
Every response carries an X-Request-Id header. If this page does not explain the error, write to support@screenshotbase.com with that id. All statuses: status codes.
