ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED
Chromium's description
The Internet connection has been lost.
Chrome shows it as net::ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED, error -106. puppeteer and Playwright report the same name when a page fails to load in Chromium.
Common causes
- Wi-Fi or Ethernet is disconnected, or airplane mode is on.
- The router or modem lost its connection to the ISP.
- A VPN, proxy or firewall that blocks all traffic.
- A captive portal (hotel, airport Wi-Fi) waiting for a login.
How to fix ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED
- Check the cable or Wi-Fi connection and turn airplane mode off.
- Restart the router and the device.
- Disconnect the VPN and remove proxy settings.
- Open any website to trigger the login page of public Wi-Fi.
ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED in the screenshot API
This error describes the browser’s own machine being offline; the renderer runs on a server with a fixed connection, so it does not come from the target website.
Only the page's own load can fail a render. An image, script or frame of the page that fails with a network error does not: the page is captured as the browser shows it without that resource.
